Coca-Cola wants to reduce its carbon footprint

Coca-Cola Europe has partnered with Paboco to develop a new packaging prototype for the first paper bottle. It consists of a paper frame with a recyclable plastic insert.

Now the company's specialists are working to recycle packaging 'like any paper'. Coca-Cola R&D and Packaging Innovation Manager Stijn Franssen is confident that this technology will play a huge role in the future. The next step is to develop a bottle without a plastic liner.
