Quarantine thrips found in a roomed nightshade in Omsk

A dangerous pest was detected by specialists of the Laboratory of Quarantine Phytosanitary Examinations and Surveys of the Omsk Reference Center of the Rosselkhoznadzor in the flowers of a roomed nightshade grown in the Netherlands.

 

Experts during the analysis identified a quarantine pest - western (Californian) flower thrips. This insect of a closed ground is dangerous to an equal degree both for floral and ornamental plants, and for vegetable crops. Tryps prevents the formation of full flowers, the surface of leaves populated with thrips, discolored, the plant is covered with necrosis.

 

Experts of the Omsk Reference Center (member of Omsky Biocluster) sent information about the examinations results to the Department of Rosselkhoznadzor of Omsk region.
