On January 25, Mezheninovskaya Poultry Farm LLC (Kopylovo, near Tomsk) launched the first stage of an oil-processing plant.
"With the opening of this enterprise, we are opening a new page in the processing of crop products," said Deputy Governor for the Agro-Industry Andrei Knorr. "Production is based on the most up-to-date global technologies that allow to obtain high redistribution of raw materials and high yield. It’s important that the added value remains we in the Tomsk region."
The processing capacity at the first stage will be 15 thousand tons of raw materials per year; next autumn it is planned to launch the second phase with a capacity of 45 thousand tons of raw materials. The plant can also process any oilseeds - flax, soybeans, etc. In the near future, the company plans to establish an oil bottling line at the plant for sale to its people.
Over the past five years, rapeseed fields in the Tomsk region have grown by more than 8 thousand hectares, today their area is 20 thousand hectares. In 2017, the gross harvest of rapeseed in barn weight reached 22.3 thousand tons and increased by 67% compared to 2016. According to the vice-governor, by 2030, it is planned to expand the cultivated areas of rapeseed in the Tomsk region to 40 thousand hectares, the share of rapeseed in the structure of the cultivated areas will be 14.2% (today 6.9%). Gross production of oilseeds will increase three to four times - up to 70 thousand tons.
