December 2017, imports of palm oil in Russia amounted to 22.7 thousand tons. Compared with November, it declined by more than 35%. This is the minimum monthly volume for the last 7 seasons.
During the four months of the 2017-2018 season, palm oil purchases fell by almost 40% to 224.7 thousand tonnes (a year earlier, the volume was 373.3 thousand tonnes). Purchases of palm oil by Russia in the current marketing year continue to decline. This applies to both major suppliers of palm oil, and less significant players in the market. Indonesia remains the main exporter, accounting for 83% of total imports.
