Pigs for slaughter in central Russia have risen in price by 18%

This week, world prices for pork in half-carcasses increased by an average of 0.4%. Pork still appreciably more expensive in the US at 6.9% per week and 17.5% per month. In Canada, there is also a 1.2% increase in prices. Compared to the level of a month ago, world prices for pork decreased by an average of 2.0%. Most of all in Canada by 15.2%. Russian pork this week has become more expensive by 0.6%, and for the month it has fallen in price by 2.0% (in dollar terms).

 

The cost of pigs for slaughter in Russia in dollar terms increased by 0.4% in a week, and by 10.0% over the month. Thus, in the Central Federal District for a week, prices for pigs for slaughter and carcasses increased by an average of 0.2% and 0.4%, respectively. Pork category 1 has risen in price by 1.0% per week.

 

Compared with the previous month, pigs for slaughter went up by 18.1%, and half-carcasses by 15.8%. For the year, prices for pigs for slaughter decreased by an average of 10.9% on average, while pork half-carcasses declined by 4.5%, the Information-Analytical Agency EMEAT said.
