Pig production increased by 11.3%

In January-April 2020, the production of pigs (for slaughter in live weight) amounted to 1.5 million tons, which is 11.3% or 150,000 tons more than in the same period last year.

The main growth was provided by Kursk, Tambov, Belgorod, Voronezh, Pskov, Oryol regions, Bashkortostan and Mordovia. The key factors determining the positive dynamics of the development of domestic pig breeding are the formation of a modern breeding base and the strengthening of veterinary protection.
