Titan Group and Skolkovo discuss collaboration topics

A meeting of the company's founder Mikhail Sutyaginsky with the academic director of the Moscow School of Management Skolkovo Andrei Volkov, who arrived in the Omsk region on a visit, was held at the Titan Group (Titan-Agro LLC, a Group subsidiary, is the Omsky Biocluster member).

The management of the Titan Group presented projects that now need research support. According to Mikhail Sutyaginsky, projects can be implemented jointly with research and educational organizations of the region within the Research and Education Center (REC). The possibility of creating such a center in the Omsk region is being discussed.

"The world is moving toward green chemistry," the head of Titan Group shared his vision of the REC relevance. "Our task is to create industries that will process renewable plant materials to produce those products that are traditionally obtained from hydrocarbons." These include high-octane fuel additives, raw materials for the production of epoxy resins, components for the production of rubbers." He noted that the company has certain achievements in this area, but their improvement requires additional scientific research on a global scale. Titan Group plans to gain access to such research in the REC. "Business forms the main request for technology and staffing of projects," Mikhail Sutyaginsky said. "Only one plant for the deep processing of grain and oilseeds will give development to 13 sectors of the national economy."

Andrei Volkov confirmed that business and industrial partners within the REC are assigned a central role:

"The ultimate goal of REC creating is to increase the share of advanced scientific and technological Russian products in the national and world markets, and for these purposes the centers will provide research, production technologies, staff training and so on."

According to the objectives of the Science National Project, developed in accordance with the Russian President May decree, by 2024 at least 15 scientific and educational centers should be created. The centers should integrate all levels of education, the capabilities of research organizations and business, Vladimir Putin noted in his Address to the Federal Assembly.
