Northern Kazakhstan: 5.3M tons of grain

Farmers of the North Kazakhstan region (Republic of Kazakhstan) completed harvesting grain, 5.3M tons of grain were milled. The average yield was 19 centners per hectare, which is higher than last year’s result (18.2 centners per hectare).

 

The authorities of the North Kazakhstan region note that the increase in yields is a natural result of the systematic work of farmers and strong state support.

 

The results of the completed harvesting of potatoes and vegetables were summed up. This year, the area under potatoes increased from 27K to 37K hectares, 588K tons of potatoes were harvested. Compared to last year, the gross harvest of potatoes increased by 18%. Harvesting vegetables amounted to 110 thousand tons. The regional administration is confident that the harvest of potatoes and vegetables is enough to meet the needs of the region and restrain the unreasonable increase in prices for these products.
