"Now our agenda includes Russian varieties of corn, wheat, triticale and rye. All of these are the main crops used in the production of edible alcohol," said Alexander Mordovin, president of the National Union of Grain Producers & Barley, Malt and Beer Union.
Experts noted that some breeding achievements have very serious potential for use in the production of bioethanol. One of the top topics was also the announced initiative to update the methods of some crops in accordance with modern production and economic realities.
