Pasta sales in Russia from 2014 to 2018 increased by 7.4% and reached 1,080,000 tons. In 2015, pasta sales decreased by 5.3%, which led to an increase in the cost of these products.
In the same year, the demand for expensive imported pasta significantly decreased. Consumers drew attention to unbranded pasta, which is sold by weight, as well as to pasta products made from flour of soft wheat varieties. Pasta sales in 2017-2018 began to grow again, which was associated with an increase in demand for pasta of medium and high price segments.
The consumer considers the most popular curly pasta, then the horns and noodles. According to expert forecasts, sales of pasta in Russia in 2019 - 2023 will increase. It is expected that pasta sales in 2023 will amount to 1,148,000 tons - this is 6.3% more than last year.
