Specialists of the Laboratory of Quarantine Phytosanitary Examinations and Surveys of the Omsk Reference Center of the Rosselkhoznadzor (member of Omsky Biocluster) found a quarantine pest in the small-flowered Tagetes seedlings.
The quarantine pest - western (Californian) flower thrips - was identified in the lot of the Marigolds of Russian origin. This insect of a closed ground is dangerous to an equal degree both for floral and ornamental plants, and for vegetable crops. The information was sent to the Office of the Rosselkhoznadzor for Omsk region.
