The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation supports the idea of holding a 'White Saturday' in Russia - the day of sales of domestic agricultural and food products. This is stated in the reply of the department to the relevant request of the State Duma deputy Vasily Vlasov.
Earlier, the deputy appealed to the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov with a request to consider the possibility of approval in Russia of the day of sales of domestic food products - 'White Saturday' - by analogy with the 'Black Friday' in several countries. Vlasov proposed to hold a 'White Saturday' in order to support the domestic producer in the period starting from the second Saturday of November, when sellers can sell domestic agricultural food products with discounts.
"The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia informs that it positively regards initiatives aimed at developing domestic trade and increasing the sales of food products produced by domestic producers," the ministry said in a response to the signing by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Victor Evtukhov. The Ministry is ready to take part in the consideration of the relevant draft law as part of the formation of the position of the Government of the Russian Federation and the procedures provided for by the government regulations, in accordance with the established procedure.
