Omsk region will supply grain to Japan by sea

The cost of delivering wheat by rail is much more expensive than by water. It is cheaper to supply grain across the Irtysh to Yamal, and then deliver it to Japan by ship of the Northern Navy. In this way, the Omsk region in 2019 will supply the first 50,000 tons of wheat to Japan.

Grain traffic to Japan is planned to be realized by sea as part of the Window to Asia Project, about which the governor of the Omsk region, Alexander Burkov, spoke at a meeting with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Gordeyev in Moscow.
