The production of mixed fodder in Russia in July-February season-2017/18 amounted to 18.7 million tons, which is 9% higher than the same period last season. The main part of the production was made for poultry and pigs, whose livestock growth stimulates the increase in the production of mixed fodders.
The production of mixed fodders for poultry in the specified period amounted to 10.2 million tons, or 55% of the total production of mixed fodder products. The share of mixed fodders for pigs reached 37%, or 7 million tons. Experts attribute the increase in the production of mixed fodders to the increase in the number of pigs and poultry, which, as of the beginning of February 2018, reached the highest level for Russia and is 20.1 million pigs and 471 million poultry.
