At the request of Omsk Region Governor Alexander Burkov, the region is included in the list of regions that will receive subsidies for rail transport of export agricultural products in 2019.
The head of the region noted that the lack of conditions for increasing the export of finished products and agricultural raw materials could have a negative impact on the financial condition of agricultural producers in regions remote from ports, the establishment of preferential tariffs for grain transportation is especially important for Siberian regions. Despite the difficult weather conditions, the Omsk region harvested 3.35M tons of grain with the highest yield in many years and subsidizing will help Omsk farmers to sell grain at the best price.
Omsky Biocluster Press Secretary Ravshana Balloyeva:
"Without a doubt, this measure will be one of the price regulators on the market. At the same time, taking into account the strategic tasks set by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the processing of raw materials in the Russian Federation and the increase in exports of products of the deep processing of grain crops are of particular relevance. We hope that the year 2019 will be the starting point for the revitalization of ambitious projects for the deep processing of grain in Omsk region."
