Aleksander Tkachev: it is necessary to introduce high technologies in agriculture

Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Aleksander Tkachev during the session 'Innovations in Agriculture and Employment in the Agrarian Sector: Searching for a Balance' at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum noted that it is critically important to provide Russian farmers with access to new technologies in the conditions of a technological revolution.

Aleksander Tkachev added that the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia has developed a federal scientific and technical program until 2025. "As a result, we intend to increase the number of licensing agreements of agricultural enterprises with scientific organizations by 50%, and the share of high-tech agricultural producers should increase by 30%, which will allow increasing the volume of agricultural production by 25% by 2025," Tkachev said.

Vitaly Aleshchenko, doctor of economic sciences, pro-rector on scientific activity of Omsk State Agrarian University:
"High technologies in domestic agriculture will allow not only to ensure the country's food security, but also to bring Russia into the leaders of agricultural exports. The main vector of our research is modern, high-tech production. We expect that the Federal program stimulates the cooperation of science and business."
