May 30, 2017 Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Aleksander Tkachev attended a meeting of the Presidium of the Presidential Council for Strategic Development and Priority Projects, chaired by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
The meeting participants discussed the implementation of the 'Export of agricultural products' project in terms of supporting associations of agricultural producers and creating logistics centers for agricultural products export. Aleksander Tkachev informed Dmitry Medvedev that the project is being implemented in accordance with the schedule. The Minister said that in accordance with the adopted priority project to support the export of agro-industrial complex, exporters of agricultural products will receive support through lending, insurance, participation in exhibitions, as well as compensation for logistics and transportation costs.
"I am confident that the implementation of our priority project will significantly expand the support of exporters and by 2020 increase agricultural exports to foreign markets by 27% to 21.4 billion rubles," Aleksander Tkachev added.
The Minister also reported on additional support measures, in particular, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, in conjunction with the Russian Export Center, is preparing a draft resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation providing for compensation for part of the cost of transporting agricultural products and food by rail over long distances.
