Belarus starts supplying beef to China

Two Belarusian companies - Mogilev Meat Processing Plant and Veles-Meat LLC - are beginning to supply frozen beef to China, the head of the main department for foreign economic activity of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Alexei Bogdanov told to BelTA.

"The first two meat-packing plants are open for supplies of beef to the People's Republic of China," said Alexei Bogdanov. He stressed that it is not planned to stop there. Alexei Bogdanov reminded that Belarus constantly invites Chinese business delegations to work out the logistics scheme of supplies, the specifics of meat cutting, and analyze the taste preferences of consumers.

Now eight Belarusian meat processing enterprises are certified for export of beef to China. The certification procedure for other companies continues. In total, during the year Belarus plans to supply beef to China for $ 20 million, in accordance with the protocol on the intentions of cooperation between Chinese companies and representatives of Belarusian enterprises.
