Chrysanthemums with thrips were brought to Omsk again

 

The quarantine pest was discovered by specialists of the Laboratory of Quarantine Phytosanitary Examinations and Surveys of Omsk Reference Center of Rosselkhoznadzor in a party of Dutch flowers brought to Omsk region.

 

Quarantine pest - western (Californian) flower thrips - was identified during analyzes in chrysanthemums Zemblamix. This insect of the closed ground is dangerous to an equal degree both for floral and ornamental plants, and for vegetable crops. Its larva and adult individual feed on the cell sap of plants and prevent the formation of full flowers. The surface of the leaves populated with thrips, discolored in the form of strokes, in the further deepening and necrosis appear at the points of infection.

 

Information on the results of the examinations carried out by specialists from Omsk Reference Center was sent to Rosselkhoznadzor Office for Omsk region.
