The delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia (First Deputy Minister Dzhambulat Khatuov, Director of the Department of Animal Breeding and Breeding Kharon Amerkhanov, Director of the Department of Veterinary Vladimir Shevkoplyas) visited the OmSAU stand (member of Omsky Biocluster) as part of the exhibition 'AgroOmsk-2017'.
The Omsk State Agrarian University rector Oksana Shumakova presented the delegation a virtual laboratory of genetics of cereals, created on the basis of a mobile application with augmented reality. The laboratory allows to visualize the implementation of the selection process at a higher quality level.
The delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia together with the Governor of Omsk region Viktor Nazarov visited OmSAU with a working visit. The university management meeting with the guests took place in the scientific agricultural library. Dzhambulat Khatuov was interested in the training of personnel for agriculture, discussed the issues of social support for young specialists, prospects for the development of the experimental field, as well as scientific developments of the university. He noted that the leadership of the university effectively interacts with the regional authorities, which undoubtedly increases the contribution of one of the leading agrarian universities of the country to the development of the region.
Kharon Amerkhanov asked about the training of livestock specialists in the Omsk State Agrarian University, stressing that today the industry is experiencing a shortage of personnel in this category of specialists. Heads of enterprises are waiting for young professionals with excellent knowledge of English. In this regard, he asked how the situation is with the training of a foreign language in OmSAU. The rector told that the university is implementing a program of double diplomas with the University of Portugal, the first specialists have already perfectly defended their work in English. In addition, there is a linguistic center for students and teachers, where everyone can study the language with a native speaker.
At the end of the meeting, Dzhambulat Khatuov recorded in the Book of Honored Guests of the Omsk State Agrarian University. The rector of the University Oksana Shumakova presented the guests with agricultural products of the university and invited them to the 100th anniversary of OmSAU next year.
