The Eurasian Economic Commission has prepared a program for the agricultural engineering development to stimulate the localization of production and the flow of investment. This was stated by Tigran Harutyunyan, Deputy Director of the Department of Industrial Policy of the ECE, the ECE press service reported.
It is noted that in 2017 the sown areas of grain and leguminous crops in the EEC countries increased to 66.2 million hectares. However, the amount of agricultural machinery per 1,000 hectares in the EEC states is much less than in the EU or US countries. A similar situation is observed for harvesters. For the development of import substitution, a list has been prepared, which includes attracting investments in the components production, subsidizing the acquisition of equipment in leasing, and confirming the equivalence of the components.
According to Tigran Harutyunyan, the production of foreign components in the Eurasian Economic Union countries with mandatory certification and subsequent improvement of technical characteristics is a priority direction of development of industry.
