President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin called the expansion of the use of electronic certificates as the most effective way of combating smuggling of food products subject to sanctions, reports DairyNews.ru.
"Today, unfortunately, there are very few of them - nine million a month, and 300 million are needed," Vladimir Putin said at a meeting on the development of the agro-industrial complex in Voronezh. The President also addressed the leaders of Russian regions:
- Most of the work is assigned to you, the results of the work largely depend on the heads of regions. Some regions work successfully, others do not. I ask you to pay attention to this and speed up the solution of this task (the introduction of electronic certificates - Ed.).
The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia has published a draft amendment to Article 4 of the Federal Law "On Veterinary Medicine." The document provides for the extension of the current procedure for the registration of veterinary accompanying documents for controlled products before July 1, 2018. After that, the registration of veterinary accompanying documents will be made in electronic form.
