A number of member states have backed the upcoming signing of the so-called ‘EU Soya Declaration’, which supports increased production of legume crops and soybeans in the EU in order to begin to tackle the protein deficit in the bloc, reports the British portal 'Agra Europe'.
The German and Hungarian delegations circulated a joint information note on the Declaration ahead of meeting of EU agriculture ministers in Luxembourg (June 12, 2017), which outlines that the document is expected to be signed on the margins of next summit.
The problem of fodder protein deficit is repeatedly discussed by both foreign and domestic experts in the field of fodder production and livestock.
