Hendrix Genetics (Netherlands) intends to open in Russia a complex for the production of an hatching turkey egg with an annual capacity of about 6.5 million eggs and 60-70 thousand head of young animals. This is reported by Kommersant with reference to its own sources.
According to the president of Agrifood Strategies Albert Davleev, the entire russian market of hatching eggs of turkey and one-day turkeys is currently about 50 million pieces per year. Thus, when Hendrix reaches its designed capacity, the company can expect 13% of the russian market. The interlocutor of Kommersant believes that the netherlands company will need from 20 to 30 million euros to implement such a large-scale project. Another market participant estimated that the capacity of the planned site is sufficient to fully supply the poultry factory that produces 50,000 tons of meat per year.
Today, the hatching egg of a turkey in Russia produces only Eurodon Group (Vadim Vaneev). At the end of the year, it produced about 9.1 million eggs, while 3 million - for third-party producers, the rest - for their own needs. Production of the hatching egg Eurodon launched in 2010, spending 5 billion rubles on this. Now the company plans to expand the project, it needs about 10 billion rubles.
