The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan saved about 25 billion tenge ($ 73.4 million) as a result of abolishing the hectare subsidy. This was stated by the Vice-Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Kairat Aytuganov, reports BNews.kz.
"As of January 1, 2017, there were 65 types of subsidies in agriculture in Kazakhstan, of which 11 were canceled as inefficient, including a hectare subsidy.The areas were paid from about 300 to 500 tenge (from $ 0.88 to $ 1.47) per hectare (wheat, barley, oats, etc.). The effect of abolishing the hectare subsidy was 25 billion tenge ($ 73.4 million)," he said.
Kairat Aytuganov noted that the growth of beef production by 30% was fixed in Kazakhstan already in the first year of the new subsidy rules.
