About a month later, flour problems may arise in Kyrgyzstan. The chairman of the Committee of Millers of Kyrgyzstan Rustam Zhunushev told about this to the Sputnik Kyrgyzstan portal.
According to him, the flour millers of Kyrgyzstan produce flour mixed from Kyrgyz and Kazakh grain. Wheat from Kazakhstan comes by rail, it is transported by special wagons (hoppers).
"Kazakhstani carriers sold their shares to Russian companies, as we are warned, all these hoppers are sending to Russia, there is a record wheat crop. Now the grain comes to Kyrgyzstan according to contracts, orders are being fulfilled, but if supplies are blocked, there may be big problems, perhaps through month, I do not exclude that this could lead to a deficit of flour and a rise in prices," Rustam Zhunushev explained.
He noted that the lack of hoppers caused problems with the delivery of grain to the mills of South Kazakhstan. "We have a two-month supply of grain, but because of the small capacity of grain elevators we do not create large reserves, and we buy them as needed. If in case of problems, they turn to the government and make every effort to prevent difficulties," added the Chairman of the Mill Committee Kyrgyzstan.
