August 30, 2017, meeting of the Commission for the selection of joint projects of participants in industrial clusters was held. The Commission was formed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation in order to select projects for the provision of state support.
The Commission included representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, 'Business Russia', the Industrial Development Fund, the Agency for Technological Development and other specialized organizations and agencies. The Association of Clusters and Technoparks was represented by the Director of the Association Andrey Shpilenko.
According to Andrey Shpilenko, all seven projects presented at the Commission meeting are of interest from the point of view of import substitution, and some of them also have an export component:
"Industrial clusters have already proved their effectiveness as a tool to increase the investment attractiveness of the regions, and we see a high interest of business in the cluster model of development of cooperation ties - it allows reducing the costs of enterprises for the development of production and the development of new types of high-tech products. All the projects considered today are aimed at developing cooperation ties in key industries. However, not all of them met the requirements approved by the Government of the Russian Federation. I hope that those projects that are rejected at the end of the meeting will be finalized and will be able to receive support in the near future."
The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia will conclude the agreement on the grant with the winners of the selection, and Q4 2017 the approved projects will receive financing.
