December 12, 2016, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Yevgeny Gromyko held a meeting of the interdepartmental working group on development and support of agricultural exports.
Participants discussed the development of agribusiness exports in 2016 and outlined the future tasks. Yevgeny Gromyko noted that the forecast of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), in 2030, of world production of agribusiness will grow by 1.5 times and exceed 9 trillion dollars. "This is an important opportunity for us to ensure the growth of production of agricultural products and processed products, thereby increasing the share of Russia in world production," Deputy Minister said. According to Yevgeny Gromyko, it is necessary to actively develop the export of meat products, which for the first 9 months of this year increased by 60% and exceeded 150 thousand tons.
