July 3 - 5, 2017 the 2nd Conference on Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development (SARUD) was held at the Kazakh Agrotechnical University (Astana). The Omsk State Agrarian University delegation (member of Omsky Biocluster) took part in the conference.
More than 50 participants gathered at the Kazakh Agrotechnical University for joint integrated work on the implementation of the educational master's program 'Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development'. This program is oriented to practical training in the field of sustainable development, taking into account the needs of the regions and considers the main components of sustainability principles: economic development, social development, ecological well-being of rural areas, and aspects of agricultural production.
Already in the new academic year, a program aimed at practical education in the field of sustainable agriculture and rural development will be launched on the basis of OmSAU and partner universities. The main objectives of the training program are: to create conditions for improving the living standards of the rural population, maintaining the resource potential of primary producers of goods and services, sustainable use of resources and preserving the natural potential of ecosystems.
