May 23 - 26, 2017, InnoWeek 2017 was held in Tyumen region. The key event of Innoweek-2017 was the 'Battle of Startups', which took place in five directions: information technology, agrobiotechnology, oil and gas production and services, medicine, new materials. The main experts of the 'Battle of Startups' were Aleksander Rumyantsev and July Zegelman - the most active venture investors specializing in supporting high-tech projects.
OmSAU (member of Omsky Biocluster) was represented by Dmitry Algazin, Dmitry Kazakov and Maya Vorinova (section 'Agrobiotechnology') with projects: 'Rosinka' and 'Organo-mineral composition based on production waste'. Other projects of the section: innovative biopreparation for pest control, production of useful concentrates for animals, soil conditioners, sorbents. The expert of the section, Director General of PRODO Group Petr Ilyukhin, noted that more than 10% of the presented projects are of commercial interest. "These technologies are applicable in production. Perhaps we were more practical and insufficiently paid attention to financial calculations, but from the point of view of innovations the projects required refinement. Science does not always have the ability to make accurate calculations and experiments, but we will provide this base," he concluded.

"Participation in startup competitions allows us to reveal the shortcomings of our project and find out the advantages. The public presentation of the project allows us to expand the circle of interested people, both investors and like-minded people, future participants of the project, besides, the trips allow us to exchange experience and practices to promote projects."
