Omsky Biocluster: high level of protection from ASF

The Office of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance in Omsk region published on its official website comments regarding the biosecurity of the pig farms in the region.

Assessment of the zoosanitary status of pig farms, as well as organizations engaged in the slaughter of pigs, processing and storage of pig production is especially relevant today. The reason lies in the complex epizootic situation in Russia for dangerous animal diseases, especially African swine fever.

The Order of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Russian Federation of 23.07.2010 approved the Rules for determining the zoosanitary status of pig farms, as well as organizations that carry out slaughter of pigs, processing and storage of pig products. The compartments system is used to ensure a favorable epizootic status of pig farms, as well as organizations engaged in the slaughter of pigs, processing and storage of pig breeding and prevent the spread of contagious animal diseases in the Russian Federation. The announcement of a territory that is unfavorable for ASF means that economic entities classified as compartments III and IV will continue their economic activities, while those classified as compartments I and II fall under restrictive measures. Compartmentalization, in the event of an outbreak of contagious diseases and the mortality of animals, will provide economic entities with a high level of protection additional opportunities to continue normal economic activities.

Four pig complexes in Omsk region have the IV compartment: Ruscom-Agro LLC, Omsky Bacon JSC, Titan-Agro LLC, Lyuft Farming. Pig breeding enterprise Osha JSC has the 1st compartment - the lowest level of biosecurity. The slaughtering point of Luft Farming and the Meat Processing Plant Titan-Agro LLC have a high level of biosecurity (IV compartment) among the organizations engaged in slaughter of pigs, processing and storage of pig products. The average level of biosecurity - the third compartment - is owned by meat processing enterprises of Omsk Bacon JSC, Kompur IPC JSC and Kompur MPZ LLC, Sibirskiye Kolbasy LLC, Agromir LLC, Kalachinskiye Meat Products LLC, Rubicon Company LLC.

Recall that Titan-Agro LLC and Rubicon Company LLC are members of Omsky Biocluster.
