January and February 2017, six samples of butter were delivered to the Laboratory for the Quality and Safety of Products of Animal and Plant Origin, Feed and Environment of Omsk Reference Center of Rosselkhoznadzor (body of state supervision in the sphere of agriculture).
The oil samples were analyzed with gas chromatography using a mass spectrometric detector.
Anna Kostyshina, Head of the Laboratory of Omsk Reference Center of Rosselkhoznadzor:
"Falsification of the fatty phase of butter from cow's milk with fats of non-dairy origin is established by comparing the obtained ratios of the mass fractions of methyl esters of fatty acids with the ratios presented in the regulatory documentation. The result of the studies is the fact that two samples of six do not meet the requirements of the state standard GOST 32261-2013 "Butter. TU."
