Head of the State Duma's economic committee Sergei Zhigarev at a meeting in Tatarstan expressed the opinion of the State Duma on the need to adopt a law and a federal program on state support for deep processing of agricultural products (according to RIA Novosti).
The event, in particular, discussed the state support and stimulation of small and medium-sized businesses, food security, as well as the competitiveness of domestic products. According to Sergei Zhigarev, Russia should supply for export not only raw materials, but also finished agricultural products, which requires state support for deep processing of agricultural products. This will attract new technologies, create new production and high-tech jobs.
