January-September of 2017, the production of pigs for slaughter in live weight in farms of all categories amounted to 3.17 million tons, which is 4.5% more than a year earlier.
Agricultural organizations increased pork production in slaughter weight to 2.7 million tons (+ 6.2% compared to the same period in 2016). The main increase was provided by the producers of Pskov, Kursk, Belgorod, Tver, Voronezh and Tambov regions. Decrease in production is allowed in the Krasnodar Territory, Vologda, Nizhny Novgorod and Vladimir regions and the Republic of Crimea.
