Poultry meat production increased by 4.3 percent

According to the results of 4 months of 2017, poultry production for slaughter in live weight in agricultural organizations amounted to about 2 million tons, which is 4.3% more than the same period in 2016.

 

The production of eggs amounted to 11.7 billion units in agricultural organizations, which is 3.0% more than in the previous year.

 

"The growth of poultry meat production in agricultural organizations was ensured by Belgorod, Tambov, Tula regions, Stavropol Territory and Republic of Bashkortostan. Yaroslavl, Tyumen, Tula, Rostov, Lipetsk regions and Krasnodar Territory are leading in terms of egg production," said the director of Livestock and Breeding Department of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture Kharon Amerkhanov.

 

At the same time, the decrease in the production of poultry meat was noted in Republics of Mari El, Crimea, Chuvashia, also Voronezh and Chelyabinsk regions, as well as in Khabarovsk Territory. Decrease in the production of eggs recorded in the Astrakhan, Ivanovo, Moscow, Leningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Sakhalin regions, Primorsky and Stavropol Territories.
