Prices for pigs in the European part of Russia fell significantly

The cost of live pigs in Russia in dollar terms fell by 9.0% (in September in relation to August). If we compare with September-2016, the fall was 5.2%, according to the IMIT information-analytical agency.

 

In the domestic pork market, live pigs slaughtered in the first category last month fell 4.1% on average in the country (8.3% in the European part of Russia). The second category of pigs for slaughter in September on average in the Russian Federation became cheaper by 3.0%, and in the Central Federal District - by 9.6%.

 

The overall level of prices for imported pork for September decreased by 0.3%. Pork cuts lost 0.1% in price, bacon went up by 0.7%, offal decreased by 1.9%, the cost of pork half-carcasses remained unchanged.

 

According to IMIT, in September there is a widespread fall in prices for pork in half-carcasses: in North America - by 18.9% per month, in the European Union - by 9.5%, in China - by 0.7%, in Brazil - by 2.8%, in the Russian Federation - by 1.3% in dollar terms.

 

The cost of live pigs for slaughter in the world market fell everywhere except Brazil, where the price increased by 2.2% in September and by 5.4% - for the year.
