The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation intends in August this year to begin buying grain in the state intervention fund. The head of the ministry Aleksander Tkachev announced this at a briefing on the results of the meeting of the Government of Russia on Thursday, April 27.
Dairy interventions (previously not implemented) can begin in July-August 2017, depending on the results of monitoring prices in the market. Aleksander Tkachev explained that the purchase of milk powder and butter will begin only if in the summer of the big milk season prices will fall seriously. If the fall in prices is not critical, then the procurement mechanism will not be applied, since the Ministry of Agriculture does not have extra money for this. Minister said, that procurement interventions in the grain market will take place in any case. Earlier, the agrarian department determined the prices for grain: for third grade wheat - 10,300 rubles / t, for fourth grade wheat - 9,000 rubles / t.
