Q1 2017 Russia increased pork production by 5.3%

The growth of production in agricultural organizations amounted to 3.7% (856.9 thousand tons). March 2017 the average price of agricultural producers for pigs in Russia was 94.1 rubles per kilo (Rosstat).

 

The main increase in pork production was provided by the agricultural organizations of Pskov, Chelyabinsk, Tver, Voronezh regions and the Stavropol Territory. A slight decrease in production was recorded in Tomsk, Penza, Vladimir, Ryazan regions and the Krasnodar Territory. Last year, Russia reached five of the eight indicators of food security (for grain, potatoes, sugar, vegetable oil and meat). Positive dynamics in the production of meat is ensured by the production of poultry meat and pork. Recall that in 2016, pork production increased by 9.4%, poultry - by 2.1%.
