Qatar will purchase more than 4,000 dairy cows

Moutaz Al Khayyat, chairman of Power International Holding (construction, retail, real estate), announced its intention to purchase four thousand head of dairy cattle for a farm that is located north of the capital of Qatar, Doha.

According to Moutaz Al Khayyatt, the void of milk production in Qatar is free. The cost of shipping the herd from the US and Australia is $ 8 million. The milk deficit in Qatar was caused by the suspension of trade on the part of Saudi Arabia on June 5, 2017. Acquisition of cattle is aimed at satisfying the growing domestic demand in the country. Milk production should begin in late September. As Bloomberg notes, the farm will be able to provide one-third of Qatar's needs for whole milk.
