Russia began to import more confectionery products

According to the Confectionery Market Research Center, imports of confectionery products to Russia in the first half of the year increased by 25% to 100.9 thousand tons, agropages.ru reports.

 

The best dynamics in the first half of the year was demonstrated by the import of chocolate confectionery products (+ 36.9% to 27.5 thousand tons). Supplies of flour confectionery products increased by 20% (54.3 thousand tons). The basic deliveries of confectionery products were carried out by the countries of the European Union (mainly Western Europe), and also Belarus and Kazakhstan. Germany, Poland and Italy became the main suppliers of chocolate confectionery products in 2017. Moscow City, Moscow region and St. Petersburg are the main consumers of imported sweets (up to half of all overseas purchases).
