Russia implements the Livestock Development Program

May 31, 2017 meeting on the implementation for the Livestock Development Program for 2017-2018 was held in the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia. May 24, 2017, this document was approved by the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dzhambulat Khatuov, the Press Service of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture informs.

 

Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, specialized research institutes, industry associations, unions and other interested persons and organizations took part in the meeting. The Livestock Development Program (consisting of six main sections) provides for the improvement of legislation in the field of breeding livestock, measures to develop the breeding base of dairy and beef cattle, pig, sheep, poultry and fish farming.

 

Target indicators of the Program include the formation of high-value breeding stock of agricultural animals, as well as the reduction of the level of import dependence on breeding products (material). The meeting participants discussed the volume of work, financing of specific activities, as well as the rules of interaction for the most effective implementation of the Program.

 

Within the framework of Omsky Biocluster, the practice on the development of the dairy industry and the productivity of the dairy herd is carried out by Genetics and Breeding of Cattle Practice.
