According to the estimates of the Russian Grain Union, the storage capacity of grain storage facilities in Russia is 120 million tons, more than 50% of which are worn out. Annually the whole crop is not fully realized, and the remainders accumulate, taking the place of fresh grain. Taking into account the grain to be harvested in the current year, the carryover stocks will increase from 14.5 to 21.2 million tons. Coupled with the stocks of the intervention fund, this situation threatens a serious deficit of storage capacity of wheat.
