The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation intends to solve the problem of the wagons shortage, including for the grain transportation. Currently, the agency is working out possible ways to resolve the situation.
The press service of the Ministry of Transport of Russia, as one of the options for resolving the problem, refers to the extension of the working week for Rosselkhoznadzor employees who are engaged in processing documentation for grain transportation by rail. As another measure, the agency proposes to impose fines for ordinary wagons downtime for consignors and unloading stations. The size of the fines has not yet been reported.
Note that the Russian regions are currently experiencing problems with rail transportation of a record grain harvest in 2017.
