The ban on surgical castration of animals will operate in Europe in 2018. In addition, according to the new regulations of the European Union, slaughter enterprises will have a manager responsible for animals.

The member of the Association of Veterinarians of Brazil, the Australian Pig Association Jose Vicente Peloso, noted that Brazilians are trying to introduce new technologies to maintain their competitiveness. Immunological castration is one of them that positively affects the quality characteristics of meat, fat and carcass as a whole, reduces the stress of animals. It is established that immunological castration allows to reduce animal feed intake by 3.2% and feed conversion by 9.86%, to increase the average daily growth by 12.9%.
