Amendments to the law on breeding livestock will be submitted to the Government of Russia by the end of the month, said Galina Safina, deputy director of the Livestock and Breeding Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation during the meeting "Implementation of the Program for the Development of Livestock Breeding for 2017-2018" at the All-Russian Field Day in Tatarstan.
The main changes introduced in the draft law are as follows: the notions 'state pedigree service', 'state pedigree book' and 'state plumbers register' will disappear, the division of functions between the federal level and the level of subjects of the federation will be created, a plenipotentiary federal agency for pedigree livestock production and authorities at the entity level will be established.
