The quarantine pest was discovered by specialists of the Laboratory of Quarantine Phytosanitary Examinations and Surveys of Omsk Reference Center of Rosselkhoznadzor in roses ('Mix' sort), brought to Omsk region from Moscow.
The performed analyzes identified a quarantine pest - western (Californian) flower thrips. This insect of the closed ground is dangerous to an equal degree both for floral and ornamental plants, and for vegetable crops.
Information on the results of the expert examinations of this sample by specialists of Omsk Reference Center (member of Omsky Biocluster) was sent to the Rosselkhoznadzor Office for Omsk region.
