The Kazakh authorities will approve the 'Agroprocessing Program'

Nine priority directions of agro-industrial products processing are defined in the Republic of Kazakhstan: milk, meat, hides, wool, oilseeds and grains, fruits and vegetables, sugar beets and potatoes. These directions became the basis for the map of the production capacities location, including for each region and district. The document provides for the maximum loading of existing capacities by providing access to loans for the replenishment of current assets, as well as organizing the raw materials collection through agricultural cooperatives, the modernization of 80 operating refineries and the construction of 79 new ones.

These measures will increase the production of dairy products by 49%. The share of imports for cheeses will decrease from 70% to 51%, butter from 37% to 17%, cottage cheese from 35% to 23%. A similar situation can be traced to the other priority eight directions of raw materials processing.

The need for investments for the Program implementation will be provided through investment grants, as well as subsidizing interest rates on loans for fixed and working capital. The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan will, in accordance with the established procedure, amend the State Program for the Development of the Agroindustrial Complex for 2017-2021 after approval of the system of measures for the development of agro-processing (the 'Agroprocessing Program').
