Russian Ministry of Agriculture intends to remove from the market 3 million tons of grain

The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia intends to purchase about 3 million tons of grain from the market into the intervention fund or offers to stimulate its export from the regions by practically 100% subsidizing railroad transportation from regions to ports in the south of the country, the statement was made by the head of the ministry Alexander Tkachev within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum.

"We need to buy about 3 million tons of grain - it will stabilize the market, stop the price drop ... It will be right to remove from the market excess grain, which presses on pricing, on the infrastructure, as it must be stored, qualitatively," the minister said. As explained Tkachev, there are two options: the first - to continue the old traditional scheme to buy grain in the intervention fund, and the second way - to stimulate exports.

The minister noted that the essence of the second idea is to subsidize railway tariffs by almost 100% on grain transportation - especially from the regions of the Volga, the Urals and Siberia to the southern ports of Russia. Recall that previously Alexander Tkachev said about the current year's deficit of elevator capacity in the country.
