The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation has given its consent to the introduction of the system of food cards.
Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Denis Manturov noted the existence of agreements with the Ministry of Economic Development. The program of targeted food assistance was approved by the Ministry of Finance. Denis Manturov explained that he had discussed this issue with a colleague from the Ministry of Finance. However, there are questions about the timing of the implementation of the program of food cards, as well as the sources of its financing. The two ministries intend to work together on these issues. 'Pronedra' Infoportal previously wrote that the Ministry of Industry and Trade has already agreed on a list of products that needy people will be able to buy with funds on special cards. This list includes such vital products as bread, fish, milk, fruits, vegetables, potatoes, pasta, meat. It is expected that the program will begin to operate not earlier than next year, currently the budget does not provide 300 billion rubles, which are needed to implement this program.
