Russian farmers representing more than 50 regions of the country initiated an appeal to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation to develop a separate subprogram for the storage facilities construction for agricultural products.
"The storing grain capacities, most of which were created in the Soviet Union, are obsolete and require radical modernization," said AKKOR President, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Agrarian Affairs and the Federal Coordinator of the 'Russian Village' Party Project Vladimir Plotnikov. According to the deputy, there is a need both in large and small elevators. If a farmer builds a mini-granary on his farm - the state can provide compensation for 30% of the costs, if several farmers build it together - 50%.
Vladimir Plotnikov believes that the development of a storage system of agricultural products will affect the stabilization of prices in the market. "In addition, it is necessary to develop wholesale distribution centers on a cooperative basis," the deputy believes.
